The complex of the South Bohemian Centre for Persons with Disabilities
Parallel to the Masaryk University team, there are others who try to promote blind football in the Czech Republic. For example, Jiří Smékal, the Director of the South Bohemian Centre for Persons with Disabilities in České Budějovice, organized a workshop of blind football players on 22 and 23 November 2008. Persons from all around the country were invited to participated in this event. The Masaryk University team participated too, but unfortunately the fact that it is the only blind football team in the country was confirmed, as besides the team players, it was only Zdeněk Barlok from Prague and two blind sportsmen from České Budějovice who attended.
The program of the two day workshop consisted of the basic futsal techniques practice (dribbling, passing and shooting) and a practically focused seminar by Jiří Smékal who taught the participants about improving their physical condition and athletic skills.
