Central European League 2017/18, Round 4
April 7-8, 2018, Budapest
Participating teams: Sprint Wroclaw (Poland), Tyniecka NWP Krakow (Poland), Avoy MU Brno (Czech Republic), BSC Prague (Czech Republic), LÁSS Budapest (Hungary)
The Central European League has entered its second half, and on the first weekend in April, Avoy MU Brno travelled to Budapest for the penultimate round of the league. For the first time the Brno team was not supported by goalkeeping ace Tomas Bukovsky, as he had to shine at the INSPO conference in Prague. Vladimír Vaďura replaced him in goal. As always, all teams had four matches, for the Brno team the organizers prepared three on Saturday and one on Sunday morning.
The Brno team's participation in the tournament was made possible with the help of the Czech Radio Foundation (Světluška collection) and the Ministry of Youth, Education and Sports of the Czech Republic. Thank you to our partners for their support!
Right after the opening ceremony, the organizing team in new pale blue jerseys played against the current table leaders from Brno. Ondřej Gottlieb scored the first goal in the Budapest goal from a great angle and brought Jít'a Graclíková to tears with his first ever goal in the Central European League. The Brno captain didn't like that and in the second half he added his bit to the mill by scoring a goal to make it 2-0. Avoy MU Brno vs LÁSS Budapest 2-0.
Avoy MU Brno players had two games to rest before the match against Polish Sprint Wroclaw. The whole match was characterized by a lot of dynamics and it can be said that the Poles managed to defend the raids on the Polish goal quite well. Jan Bango, Michal Petráš and Aleš Moravec shone in Brno's defence. A little while before the end of the game, Jan Mrázek managed to score a goal when he literally broke through the four-man Polish defence and showed the Wroclaw goalkeeper the qualities of the league's top scorer. Thanks to Jan Mrazek, Avoy scored another victory and three points in the table. Avoy MU Brno vs Sprint Wroclaw 1-0.
Last Saturday's game was a Czech derby, in which Avoy regularly struggles. It was no different this time and the Brno team made the decision in the last seconds when Jan Bango and Jan Mrazek played a direct kick over the four-man wall five metres from the goal. To everyone's amazement, our captain was able to find that proverbial gap in the opponent's defence and secure another three points for Avoy. Avoy MU Brno vs BSC Prague 1-0.
Sunday's match against the second team in the overall table of the Central European League, the Polish Tyniecka Krakow, was very even and ended in a goalless draw. As a gift, Jan Bango and Martin Jung, two key players of both teams, received direct red cards, which means a "stop" for them for the next match. Avoy MU Brno vs Tyniecka NWP Krakow 0-0.
Vladimír Vaďura was a perfect substitute for Tomáš Bukovský in goal, as he also did not let a goal behind his back. The Brno team took home the trophy for the best team of the 4th league round, at the same time increasing their lead in the overall table by ten points over the second team Tyniecka Krakow.

Central European League 2017/18, Round 5
April 28-29, 2018, Brno
Participating teams: Sprint Wroclaw (Poland), Tyniecka NWP Krakow (Poland), Avoy MU Brno (Czech Republic), BSC Prague (Czech Republic), LÁSS Budapest (Hungary)
The opening ceremony was held in the spirit of cooperation between Avoy MU Brno and the Dětský futsal project (detskyfutsal.cz).The Brno players were accompanied to the field by children from the Orel Řečkovice futsal team, and the head of the project, Petr "Langoš" Lesenský, took the ceremonial kick-off. He confirmed his shooting qualities and converted the penalty kick with an uncatchable shot under the crossbar, although he was wearing blinders and could not watch his action.
Right after the opening ceremony, the organizing team in new pink jerseys played against the Hungarian team LÁSS Budapest. Honza Mrázek scored the only goal for Budapest in the 11th minute, when after playing a corner kick, he passed through three defenders and beat the Hungarian goalkeeper with a shot on the ground. Encouraged by the quick goal, Brno continued to attack and created promising positions, but their shots often went wide of the goal. Budapest was not dangerous up front and the match ended with a narrow victory for Brno, who were assured that no team in 1st place in the Central European League can beat them. Avoy MU Brno vs LÁSS Budapest 1-0.
The Brno team filled the one-match break with a small celebration, during which almost everyone had their hair dyed either pink or gold. The second match between Krakow and Prague ended without any goals, so they didn't have to be sorry. In a relaxed atmosphere, this time wearing blue jerseys, they entered the second match against Sprint Wroclaw. Brno's defence was a little bit angry with Lukasz Byczkowski, but none of his attempts were successful. 10 seconds before the end of the first half, Brno's Honza Mrazek came through, basically repeating the scoring action from the last game. Again from a corner kick, again after a successful dribble he overcame the Polish goalkeeper. In the second half nothing major happened and Avoy MU Brno won again by the narrowest of margins. Avoy MU Brno vs Sprint Wroclaw 1-0.
The following two matches were played in which the Brno team did not participate. First, a surprising goalless draw between Krakow and Budapest. The tactics of the Polish team were especially strange, as they did not put their best forwards Jung and Ryszka in the attack, but rather the dog defender Mateusz Krzyszkowski. The 5th game brought the first win of the year to the Prague BSC players, who were reminded of the importance of having Lukas Valer. This guy was incredibly agile and dangerous. The Vratislav players were very worried about his play and the two goals that framed the end of the 1st half and the beginning of the 2nd half set the final score 2-0 for Prague.
Brno then took on Kraków for their third match. In the first half, the spectators witnessed a fierce duel in which the defence played the main role. The only one who was able to get a chance was Honza Mrázek, but none of his shots ended up in the net. After the break, Keryn Seal helped out in attack and the Poles suddenly didn't know where to go next. The decision was made a few minutes before the end. Keryn managed to trick three of his opponents with his dribbling and two meters in front of the goal he sent an uncatchable shot to the bar, which Polish goalkeeper Krzysztof Bednarkiewicz could not handle. Avoy's third win, as is their custom, was again very close. Avoy MU Brno vs Tyniecka NWP Krakow 1-0.
In the last game on Saturday, the teams from Prague and Budapest played each other. A very dramatic match ended in a 1-1 draw when Lukáš Valer's goal from the first half was answered by István Szabó at the end of the match. The first match on Sunday between Wrocław and Budapest was actually a duel for the third place in the Central European League. Budapest was in a worse position and had to win. The Poles managed the match and after a goalless draw they could celebrate, knowing for sure that they would win the bronze medals. The remaining matches were thus only a formality from an overall point of view.
First there was the Czech derby between Brno and Prague. The relaxed hosts literally flew at their opponents and after seven minutes they led 2-0. First, Honza Mrázek got to the abandoned ball on the left side and with a quick dribble he overcame the only defender, then from an angle he hit the Prague goalkeeper with a hard bomb. Before the opponent could recover from the quick goal, Jan Bango struck another blow. He took the ball on the halfway line, dribbled past his defender, headed the ball in from the right and hit the near post. Lukas Valer then tried to reverse the result but literally ran into the huge Michal Petras. After three gladiatorial clashes, Lukáš stopped being so dangerous. In the second half, apart from Aleš Moravec, a completely new line-up came in. At the back, the team's Benjamín, Tomáš Javorský, was courageous and helped Aleš Moravec with defending Prague's attacks. The Brno offensive was a joy to watch. Ondřej Gottlieb and Keryn Seal communicated well and often helped each other with quick cross-court passes. Ondřej Gottlieb had several chances, after one of them he was unlucky and the ball bounced off the crossbar. In the end, it was Keryn Seal who scored when he hit the far post with a shot from the left. Avoy MU Brno vs BSC Prague 3-0.
The last match was a Polish derby for a change. It was completely dominated by Krakow players, with Marcin Ryszko being the best scorer. He scored two goals in the first half and completed his hat-trick in the 35th minute. In the end, Martin Jung added a fourth goal. Thanks to this win, Krakow finished second in the 5th round, right behind the 100% team Brno. The Polish were only a score ahead of the third team from Prague.
After a short half-hour break, the 2nd edition of the Central European League came to a close. The best players of all five teams were awarded, the trophy for the best scorer and goalkeeper remained in Brno, when it was awarded to Honza Mrázek for 19 goals scored and Tomáš Bukovský, who scored only one goal in all five rounds! The best defender was Mateusz Krzyszkowski from Krakow. And then the team standings were announced, so the captain Honza Mrázek could lift the beautiful trophy for the 1st place. The Brno team won it with an impressive score of 50 points from 20 matches, having never known the bitterness of defeat and only five times tied with their opponents.

Central European League 2018/19, Round 2
October 13-14, 2018, Brno
The teams of the Central European League are extremely evenly matched, which is reflected in the results of the 2nd round of the Central European League, which took place in Brno on the weekend of 13 and 14 October. Our team became the king of draws - the first four games were four, mostly scoreless draws. Only in the last match against BSC Praha we scored full points and Jan Mrázek scored three points with two goals. The first place went to Tyniecka NWP Kraków, who got 8 points, as well as BSC Praha. However, thanks to more goals scored, the Poles were the winners. Our 7 points were enough for 3rd place, right behind us in 4th place were the players of Sprint Wroclaw with 6 points. The newcomers from Vienna surprised again and got even 5 points, skipping the last team from Budapest, which only won three draws.
